Tuesday Tidbits

A storm is a brewin' in Wisteria Lane
Nicollette Sheridan has sued Marc Cherry, the creator of "Desperate Housewives" for more than 20 million dollars. She is suing for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. She claims he created a hostile work environment, "behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show."

She says on September 24, 2008, he physically assaulted her after she questioned him about something in the script. According to the lawsuit, "Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head."  She also says that when Cherry found out Teri Hatcher went above his head to complain about him, he said, "I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies."

ABC responded to the  L.A. Times  saying, "While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit."

Remember Elian Gonzalez?
This is him now...

Ten years ago Elian, 6, was found floating on an inner tube off the coast of Florida, after his mother drowned trying to reach America. Florida embraced the boy as a symbol of the struggle of ordinary Cubans to flee the oppression of Fidel Castro's communist regime. But U.S. immigration officials insisted that the boy be returned to his father in Havana. In his homeland, Elian Gonzalez is hailed as a national hero who embodies the triumph of Cuba over the United States. Every few years, the Cuban government has floated news updates and photographs trumpeting Elian's progress as a model young citizen of the Castro regime.

No HOMO Mayor

A Gainesville, Florida church has changed the sign in front of it's sanctuary from No homo Mayor to No Homo after learning it could lose its tax-exempt status for making a political statement. The original message in front of Dove World Outreach Center referred to Craig Lowe, a gay city commissioner who is running for mayor. This is not the first time they've posted a hateful sign.

"Islam is of the Devil" is also the name of the new book by this chuch's pastor, Dr. Terry Jones.
I think we should get a group together and visit their church sometime, Don't you?
UGH

I gotta run. Hope y'all are having a good week. My co-worker is out with her daughter for Spring Break so I'm having a busy week. It's also HOT as heck here in Atlanta. High 80's today. What happened to Spring?

Hey I just discovered your blog!

I stopped watching Desperate Housewives long ago but I'd pay to watch all that behind-the-scenes drama.

Eliansito is hot!

I'm a bit too far to go to that church with you but maybe I could ship you a lighter as my symbolic contribution...

Well I won't go into the politics of all that Elian drama 10 years ago, but I will comment on how hot the guy has become...
Thanks for posting.
(And what's with all the violence on the DH set? Wow.)
XO,
Michael

PS: Thanks for your super-sweet comment the other day! :-)

I had a feeling this "lawsuit" reeked of BS. A civil lawsuit without a criminal investigation is like a straight-to-video movie release. Neither of them are worth the effort.

Elian is looking quite handsome in that picture.
