Cold Dead Hand with Jimy Carrey

Well, Jim Carrey has pissed off a lot of people with this one. I live in Georgia so you can imagine what my Facebook news feed looked like today when most of my southern, bible belt, gun loving friends caught wind of this one...

What do you think? Funny or Die?

Hump Day Hunk: Victor Ortiz

I have to admit I had never heard of this hot Latin hunk before I saw him on a commercial for the new season of Dancing With The Stars. After I saw that commercial I was left wanting to know more about him. Turns out he is as sweet and smart as he is HOT.

When Victor was seven years old, his mother left her family for another man. Not long after his dad, an alcoholic who beat his kids, insisted Victor take up boxing. Once Victor drew his mother a card and gave it to her. She threw it down and said "What do I want that shit for?"(A real winner huh?). His father abandoned the family five years after his mother left and he was sent to foster care along with his siblings. That's a lot of crap to overcome but he has done it with a positive outlook. You go Victor!

And good luck on Dancing With The Stars!
Happy HUMP Day!

A Father's Letter To His Gay Son

This letter first appeared friday on the Facebook page of an anti-homophobia organization called FCKH8.
FCKH8 founder Luke Montgomery told Yahoo that the letter was emailed to them by Nate, and that it had brought tears to his eyes.
I believe that cause it sure brought tears to my eyes.

MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - SAME LOVE feat. MARY LAMBERT (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I am in love with this song and video. I think it's pretty damn cool for a straight rapper to put out a song like this. Way to go, Macklemore. Please watch the whole thing and tell me...is that P!nk marrying the two men? I think it is but she isn't credited. Let me know what you think.

Happy Belated Birthday, Jon Hamm

I've been wanting to do a post about Jon Hamm for a while and since it was his birthday yesterday, I thought it was a good time. Jon turned 42 yesterday, March 10th.

I don't know about you but I think he looks pretty hot even dressed down like in this pic...
and dressed up, he is stunningly good looking...
Even with a girl on his arm, he still looks really hot...there's just something I love about him...
And I REALLY wished I could put my finger on what it is...
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Happy Birthday, Jon!

Isaac and Amy

I don't know where I saw this video first but I LOVE IT. I saw it for the first time last year and I think I've watched it about 20 times since then. It's so sweet and romantic. Why can't I get a guy to do this for me? Damn, this chick is so lucky...UGH. I've been dating since I was 15...I'm tired, where is he(That was for all my Sex In The City fans). If you haven't seen this video, please watch it. I think you will love it too.

Isn't it great? I knew you would like it too. If you didn't like it, F*CK you. You must be a cold hearted snake(Paula Abdul fans?). I kid, I kid. While I was checking out the video again I saw his latest video and it made me cry too. He is sooo sweet! Check this one out...

Awwww, wasn't that awesome? I hope you enjoyed them. They both make me smile and cry and want Isaac to propose to me. Isaac, it's not too late is it? Seeing as how you are str8, it was probably too late when you were born but I digress. *SIGH*

Hope y'all have a great day!

RIP, Bonnie Franklin

Growing up one of my favorite sitcoms was "One Day At A Time". I loved the show and I totally related to it. My older sister was the rebel. She was always outspoken and got into trouble just like, Julie. She also started doing drugs a little later on just like Mackenzie Phillips did. I was the squeaky clean Barbara to a "T". And my mom was a strong, independent woman who didn't take crap off anyone just like Ann Romano. When I love a show like that, the people who portrayed those characters always hold a special place for me so I was sad to hear of Bonnie's passing. RIP, Bonnie! Your work will live on in reruns of this great show but more importantly your memory will live on in the minds of those closest to you.

Clive Davis vs. Kelly Clarkson

I do love a good cat fight and it seems we've got a pretty good one going on right now. I had heard rumors or a tift between Kelly Clarkson and Clive Davis back when she was getting ready to release her third album, "My December". From what I heard, Kelly was insiting on releasing the album she wanted to make but Clive wanted to her to add more "radio friendly" songs. I even heard he offered her several million dollars to include a few songs of his choice on that record but she refused. The album did pretty good and eventually went platinum but there was only one single released. I always wondered why because I actually loved the whole record(Do we still call them records?).

Now Clive has a new book coming out , "The Soundtrack To My Life", where he talks about making records with Kelly. He also admitted he is bi-sexual but didn't have sex with man until he was in his 50's...WOW...but I digress. Clive claims Kelly hated the songs "Since You Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and wanted them off her album, "Breakway". When he told her no she burst into "Hysterical sobbing". He also said “It became a David-and-Goliath battle between an all-powerful music mogul and a solitary young woman fighting bravely for the right to self-expression.”

Kelly has issued the following statment...

Hey y’all,

So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music. I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don’t have to cower to anyone – even Clive Davis.

First, he says I burst into “hysterical sobbing” in his office when he demanded Since You Been Gone be on my album. Not true at all. His stories and songs are mixed up. I did want more guitars added to the original demo and Clive did not. Max, Luke and I still fought for the bigger sound and we prevailed and I couldn’t be more proud of the life of that song. I resent him dampening that song in any way.

But, yes, I did cry in his office once. I cried after I played him a song I had written about my life called “Because Of You.” I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a “sh*tty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me.” He continued on about how the song didn’t rhyme and how I should just shut up and sing. This was devastating coming from a man who I, as a young girl, considered a musical hero and was so honored to work with.

But I continued to fight for the song and the label relented. And it became a worldwide hit. He didn’t include that in the book.

He also goes on to say My December wasn’t successful because I co-penned the album and it didn’t have “pop hits”. Well, first let me say, I’ve co-penned many of my “pop hits.” Secondly, My December went platinum (It sold 20,000 less than All I Ever Wanted which followed My December.) Hardly a huge failure. Never Again, the ONLY single they released in the US from that record was a Top 10 hit. I am very proud of that and I have my fans to thank. But, again, what’s most interesting about his story is what he leaves out: He doesn’t mention how he stood up in front of his company at a convention and belittled me and my music and completely sabotaged the entire project. It never had a chance to reach it’s full potential. My December was an album I needed to make for myself for many reasons and the fact that I was so completely disregarded and disrespected was so disheartening, there really aren’t words to explain….

Anyway, I love my job. I love my music. I love my fans. I love my label and all of my professional relationships… now. And I am grateful for Clive for teaching me to know the difference.

Cheers to another amazing year! And, as always, thanks for listening!

KC

What do you guys think of this fued? I think it's brave of Kelly to fight for what she wants but I also wonder why she's the only one to ever have such beef with Clive Davis. Is it because all the other artist were just his puppets and did what he wanted and Kelly was like Hell No, I am doing it my way? Who knows! All I do know is I love me some Kelly Clarkson and her choices have been pretty damn good so far.

What's Cookin': Sweet and Sour Chicken

I just tried this dish and it was soooo delicious that I just had to share with y'all. You should try it and let me know how you liked it.

Sweet and Sour Chicken with Roasted Broccoli and Garlic

Chicken:
3-5 chicken breast salt and pepper
1 cup cornstarch
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup canola oil

Rinse chicken, trim off fat or extras and then cut into 1 inch cubes. season with salt and pepper. Dip chicken into cornstarch and coat all the way and then into eggs. Heat oil in large skillet. Cook chicken until browned. Place in baking dish. 3 chicken breasts can be in a 9x9 but 5 chicken breasts fits better in a 9x13.

Sauce:
3/4 cups sugar
4 Tablespoons ketchup
1/2 cup white distilled vinegar
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt

Whisk until smooth. Then pour evenly over chicken. Turn chicken so the sauce gets on both sides and then put in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. turn chicken and then cook for 15 more minutes.

Broccoli:

1 head garlic, peeled (about 16 cloves)
1 cup good olive oil
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon kosher salt
4 stalks broccoli, cut into florets (8 cups of florets)
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Put the garlic cloves and oil in a small heavy-bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook uncovered over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, until the garlic is browned and tender. Turn off the heat and add the red pepper flakes and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Immediately pour into a heat-proof container to stop the cooking. Allow to cool to room temperature.

For the salad, blanch the broccoli florets in a large pot of boiling salted water for 2 to 3 minutes, until crisp-tender. Drain well and immerse immediately into a large bowl of ice water until the broccoli is cooled. This process stops the cooking and sets the bright green color. Drain well.

In a large bowl, toss the broccoli with 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 cup of the oil used to cook the garlic, the soy sauce, and 8 or more cloves of cooked garlic. Taste for seasonings and serve cold or at room temperature.

Rice:

I used boil in bag brown rice. You use whatever you would like.

Hump Day Hunk: Matt Dallas

When I first saw the previews for Kyle XY, I couldn't take my eyes off Matt Dallas. What a little hottie...and those EYES...so cute! I must confess I lost interest in the show and haven't heard much from Mr. Dallas since then. That was until last week when he came out of the closet and announced his engagement. Good for you, Matt! He is still just as hot as ever and I thought he would make a GREAT Hump Day Hunk!

AJ McCarron and Katherine Webb

Sometimes I wonder how things go so "viral". One flash of the camera and this chick turns into an overnight celebrity?
Sure, Katherine Webb is pretty. You can't deny that. But is she that hot to cause all this ruckus? If you don't know, Katherine is the girlfriend of AJ MCCarron who is the Quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide. During the National Championship game on Monday night, the camera flashes to AJ's family in the stand and fixates on Katerine Webb. ESPN announcer, Brent Mussburger, then commented on her looks by saying she was "Beautiful", a "Lovely Lady" and stating “If you’re a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with Pop.” Did you see anything wrong with his comments? I don't! So what? Now he's in trouble for the comments and ESPN is issuing an apology. I just have to ask, FOR WHAT? I could say a lot worse about her boyfriend, AJ McCarron cause I think he is HOT! He's got that conservative look but you just know he's a bit of a freak. Or at least that's what I fantasize about :)
Now If I say something like he's hot or I would like to lick his face and other things, will I get in trouble? Oooops....did I just say that out loud? One final thought...
I'm not sure I like these tattoo's AJ but I'll forgive you. Call me!

Hump Day Hunk: Bradley Cooper

I am officially in love with Bradley Cooper all over again thanks to "Silver Linings Playbook". If you have not seen the movie yet, stop what you are doing and go see it NOW.  How many times have you gone to a movie and people actually clap when it's over? Well, they did in the the theater I was in and I was one of those over the moon after seeing it. It's funny, quirky and just plain awesome. And Bradley Cooper....well, he will make you swoon all over again and fall just a little but more in love with him...

Scooby Doodle Martin

I know it's been a long time since I posted last or even been on Blogger for that matter. The last year has been one of the roughest of my life. I've been super busy holding down two jobs and on top of that my precious Scooby was diagnosed with kidney disease which ultimately took his life in September.

I know to some pets are just that. Scooby was a lot more to me. I was blessed to be there the day he entered the world and when he left it. He was my baby! I don't want to get all psycho and introspective on you guys but...I have daddy issues. I never had a dad that cared anything for me and being gay, I knew the chances of me having a child were slim. Scooby was my child and I wanted to be the opposite of my real dad and be the best dad I could be to Scooby. I sure hope I was. I have cried so much the last year during his sickness, and after his death. I'm trying to find that balance of healing and mourning. This blog is just a reminder that he was here and a look back at his life in pictures. I will love you forever, Scooby. Not a day will pass that I don't think of you...
