Monday, Monday...blah, Blah, BLAH!!!!
Today TOTALLY feels like a Monday...It sucks and not in the good way. Oh well, I will get through it...I hope :)
So how was your Thanksgiving? Mine was great. I had lunch with the family and then went to friends for dinner. What a great day!
Black Friday didn't go so well. There seemed to be a lot of GREAT deals. Target had a 32inch flat screen for $246.00...DVDs for $3.99...and small appliances for $3.00 each(toaster, sandwich maker, coffee machine). I wanted that flat screen for my bedroom and I also wanted to pick up at least the sandwich maker but did I get them? OH HELL NO! I decided I was not going to get in line super early. They opened at 5am and I got there about 10 minutes later. There was a line out the door for electronics so I rushed back to the appliances and every one of the $3.00 items were gone. I did manage to get two DVDs for $3.99 each..."The Dark Knight" & "Elf"...but that was all I bought on Black Friday. That was worth getting up at 4:30am, right?!?!...WHATEVER!
Saturday night wasn't my night either. I love college football and my team...The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets lost against our arch enemy...The dreaded Georgia Bulldogs! I hate them...Grrrrrrrr. On a brighter note, Tech still managed to end their regular season at 10-2 and will play in the ACC Championship game this Saturday night. GO JACKETS!
That's all I've got for now. I'm tired and want to try and get by with doing as little work as possible today. Have a great day!

Over the top?
or hits the mark? Being a huge American Idol fan I love seeing what these singers do with the careers they are handed. Just being in the top 10 virtually assures them a record deal but they still have to prove they can sell records. I was super excited when I heard Kris Allen's single "Live like we're dying" but radio has yet to really pick it up. I wonder why?! It's a good song!
I was watching the American Music Awards last night and saw Adam Lambert perform the first single from his upcoming album "For Your Entertainment". I wasn't too impressed and thought it was a little over the top. However, I kinda liked that he was pushing buttons and being provactive. It was even censored for west coast viewers. "You know honestly, if I offended some people... it's apples and oranges. I'm not an artist that does things for every single person," Adam told Access' Shaun backstage following his racy performance of "For Your Entertainment," where he kissed male keyboardist Tommy Ratliff, who is straight. "I'm not going to be surprised that they edit it," he continued. "People are scared and it's really sad, I just wish people could open their minds up and enjoy things, it's all for a laugh, it's really not that big of a deal."
Watch it and let me know what you guys think. It's also been out for a few weeks and I've yet to hear it on the radio.
Plus check out his album cover...
It's a little "Ziggy Stardust" meets "Xanadu" don't ya think? All skate, everyone skate. I wonder if glam rock will catch on in 2009!

The Oprah Winfrey Show is coming to an end
Say it isn't so!!!!!!!!
Tim Bennett, the President of Harpo, accounced the show will end it's run on September 9, 2001. However, there are rumors the show will make the leap from network TV to Oprah's cable channel(OWN).
Oprah will speak to viewers during her show tomorrow. I'm hoping she will continue. What about you?

Hump Day Hunk
Christopher Meloni...
YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I first noticed him on HBO's Oz as Chris Keller. He rocked my planet on that show when he hooked up with a fellow inmate. Their sex scenes were so hot. He just exudes that hot, raw & manly sex appeal. He can be seen each week on the NBC drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit(hehe, I said UNIT).
Enjoy!
You're Welcome

Holiday Recipe Share: Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake
I love Thanksgiving! What a great time to get together with friends and family and enjoy a meal together. I thought since Thanksgiving is next week it would be fun to share a recipe with you guys and hopefully you share one with me. If you have a favorite holiday recipe,I would love it if you would share it with me in the comments section of this post...a dish that you always serve at your holiday dinner...something maybe a little out of the norm...or a way to improve on an old favorite.
Here is one of mine...Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake w/Ginger Snap Crust. I saw this recipe in a magazine years ago. I made it for my office Thanksgiving luncheon and everyone loved it. I've made it for our family dinner ever since. I also made it for friends to take to their family dinner. Try it, If you like pumpkin pie and cheesecake you will LOVE this.
Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake
25 Ginger Snaps, finely crushed
1/2 cup finely chopped PLANTERS Pecans
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 (8 ounce) packages PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup sugar, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash of ground cloves
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine cookie crumbs, pecans and butter. Press onto bottom of 9 inch spring form pan.
Beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup of the sugar and vanilla with electric mixer until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition just until blended. Remove 1 cup plain batter; place in small bowl. Stir remaining 1/4 cup sugar, pumpkin and spices into remaining batter. Spoon pumpkin batter into crust; top with spoonfuls of reserved plain batter. Cut through batters with knife several times for marble effect.
Bake 45 minutes or until centre is almost set. Cool completely. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator

**New Product Alert**
I wish I had thought of this idea! McCormick’s new Recipe Inspirations make it so easy. Take a look, the spices you need pre-measured and labeled on the back, a very well-written recipe card that tells you what you need, how to prepare and even the time that it takes, and then a photo along with the nutritional info.
What a great idea! These packs will retail for around $1.99.

Thank God It's Friday
Speaking of Friday, a website has leaked the ad for Target's annual "Black Friday" sale. Some of the hot deals include a Westinghouse 32-inch LCD HDTV for $246.
A 32-inch LCD HDTV for $246...WOW! I have one for my living room but have been wanting one for my bedroom. What a great deal!
Also in the ad: $3 Chefmate appliances such as toasters, coffeemakers and sandwich makers; a 40-inch Apex 1080p LCD HDTV for $449 with a $10 gift card; a TomTom GPS for $97; a Garmin GPS for $179; an RCA dual-screen portable DVD player for $88; a $39 Polaroid V 130 Camcorder; 50% off on select toys; and children's clothing for between $5 to $7.
The ad said that Target will also be offering a free gift card worth $10 if you spend $100 or more at its stores from 5 a.m. to noon on Black Friday.
I know a lot of retailers are struggling so there will probably be a lot of great deals out there...if anyone can afford them right now :)'
Hope you guys have a GREAT weekend!

Keith Urban was robbed by Taylor Swift
Let me first give BIG props to Taylor Swift for an incredible year, She is SUPER talented! However, I'm not quite sure she should have won "Entertainer of the Year" on the CMA's last night. Kenny Chesney has won the last four years and rightfully so. He can sell out four or five shows in one city where as most country singers have a hard time selling out one. Kenny is also a GREAT performer. His shows are an experience. Taylor had no trouble selling out shows this year but I question her "live" talent. Did anyone see the opening number she performed last night? Not so good...SERIOUSLY! Check it out here.
I could see her winning for "Album of the Year" or "Single of the Year" but not "Entertainer of the Year". Heck she has a lot going for her and even writes her own songs but I just don't think she deserves all of these awards...yet! Don't even get me started on her beating out Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire & Martina McBride for "Female Vocalist of the Year". PLEASE!
I think it ticks me off more because poor Keith Urban is getting overlooked. I saw him in concert a little over a year ago and I'm still in awe of his talent(and looks...have mercy). He is an incredible guitarist, singer and overall performer. It was his time and Taylor robbed him. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Here are a few pics I took at the Keith Urban concert. Carrie Underwood opened for him and she was amazing too. They did a duet of "Stop draggin' my heart around" that was just awesome.

Taverna Plaka
I have mentioned Taverna Plaka in a previous post but decided it needed it's own special post. Taverna Plaka is a Greek restaurant here in Atlanta. Folks, it is a fantastic place to eat.
It really is a true dining experience. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is through the roof. You do have to go on a Friday or Saturday night to get the full experience though. Those are the only nights it gets really packed and they bring in the belly dancers. If you take someone there for their birthday, they make them stand on the table as they sing and throw napkins..."Oompa!"
Our waiter was a little scattered but we really didn't mind since the atmosphere was so fun. He made up for it by bringing us free shots of Ouzo and a piece of Baklava...Delicious! Try it sometime. SERIOUSLY!

I'm back!
Y'all, I'm back! I had a GREAT vacation in our nations capital. What a great city! It was clean, easy to navigate and so many beautiful & historic buildings. I walked my ass off, literally! It's no wonder how it is one of the fittest cities in the country. I thought I would share a few pics with you guys. I took almost 400 so it was hard to narrow down to a few to put on here but somehow I managed to do it. Here goes...
U.S. Capital Building
Lincoln Memorial
Washington Monument
The White House
National Cathedral
Tomb of the Unknown Solider at Arlington Cemetery
9/11 Memorials at the Pentagon
And now for one of the highlights of my trip...DON'T MAKE FUN OF ME...
Uh-huh, That's right! Julia Child's actual kitchen from her home in Cambridge, MA.
She donated it back in 2001 when she moved into a retirement home. Have I told you how much I love Julia Child? I could watch her cooking shows over and over and over again. What a great exhibit!
I've got lots to do and lots of resting up b4 work on Monday. Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!
