Turner Classic Movies Channel

I have a confession...

I am a very bad gay when it comes to watching older classic movies. For example, I don't think I had watched but just two movies made prior to 1970. Those were "Gone With The Wind" and "The Wizard Of Oz". However, that's all changed now thanks to the Turner Classic Movies channel.

Where have I been that I have never watched this channel? It's awesome! All of these movies are shown without commercial interruption. Who knew? Well, probably all of you did. I know I'm slow but I'm catching up. In the last couple of months I've seen four good movies...
I loved "The Way We Were" ...until the end. I understand he left Katie because the relationship was too complicated for HIM and he didn't like Katie's constant abrasiveness ...but did he have to abandon his daughter? That bugged me. Ya know, Hubbell...if you knocked Katie up you should have still payed child support and been there for your daughter. Oh wait, I guess it is just a movie, huh?

Of the four movies above, I really think "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" was my favorite. What a great movie! And damn, Paul Newman was SUPER hot back then wasn't he? WOW, He really had me a little moist for sure. He just exudes manliness...Growl!
I've also recorded two more that I will watch this week...

Other than the ones I've seen...Can you guys recommend an older movie circa 1970 or older that is a "can't miss"? I'd love to hear your opinions as to what I should be watching.

I have not seen Baby Jane. I will try to find that one to watch.

That's so awesome, David! That would have been a fun party!

Be prepared for Virginia Wolf - most people I know who've seen it found it great but too brutal to watch again.

Anything with Bette Davis.
Meet Me In St Louis.

TCM and AMC are awesome. I have a feeling you'd really like It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. It's one of my favorite old movies and I wish I had it on DVD.

I have always been a big Marilyn fan so Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Some Like it Hot, and How to Marry a Millionaire. Philadelphia Story is one of my all time favorite movies ever. I went through a phase where all I watched was classic movies...I will think of more and let you know.
