Gary Coleman has died

Former child star, Gary Coleman died today after suffering a intracranial hemorrhage. He was only 42.
A coworker asked what he died from and someone replied  "I think it was a stroke"...To which the co-worker replied....was it a "Diff'rent Stroke"? lol

Sorry, but I had to tell that story...RIP, Gary!

Happy Birthday, Scooby

Thirteen years ago today I received the best present ever...my dog, Scooby. My roommate at the time had his mother and dad and when the puppies were born she offered to give me one. I had never thought about having a small dog but I said I would take one anyway because they were sooo cute. I am so glad I did. He is my baby. I can't believe he's thirteen already. I am hoping for at least that many more years with him...
Happy Birthday, Scooby!

These are the first pics I ever took of him. Look how small he is...

My favorite pic....so cute...
His first Christmas pic...how cute is that face!
He's been "dog of the day" twice on the website http://www.dogoftheday.com/

I love you, Scooby Doodle

The Friday Flashback

I remember my sister taking me to my first day of middle school. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. We pulled up for her to let me out and I heard this song blasting from at least two cars. Almost thirty years later(OMG, really? I'm so old) and I still love this song.

F*ck you

Oh gosh, I love Lily Allen even more now. Please watch this video and pay attention to the lyrics.
Thanks to my blogger buddy @ rectal ventriloquism for blogging about this video. I had to steal it for mine. I'd like to dedicate it to all the haters out there.

Here are the lyrics...

Look inside, look inside your tiny mind
and look a bit harder
cause we’re so uninspired
so sick and tired
of all the hatred you harbor

so you say it’s not okay to be gay
well I think you’re just evil
you’re just some racist who can’t tie my laces
you’re point of view is medieval

Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause we hate what you do
and we hate your whole crew
so please don’t stay in touch
fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause your words don’t translate
and it’s getting quite late
so please don’t stay in touch

do you get, do you get a little kick out of being small-minded?
You want to be like your father
it’s approval you’re after
well that’s not how you’ll find it

do you, do you really enjoy living a life that’s so hateful
Cause there’s a hole where your soul should be
you’re losing control of it
and it’s really distasteful

Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause we hate what you do
and we hate your whole crew
So please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause your words don’t translate
and it’s getting quite late
so please don’t stay in touch

Look inside, look inside your tiny mind
and look a bit harder
cause we’re so uninspired
so sick and tired
of all the hatred you harbor

You say you think we need to go to war
Well you're already in one
Cause it's people like you
That need to get slew
No one wants your opinion

Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause we hate what you do
and we hate your whole crew
so please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause your words don’t translate
and it’s getting quite late
so please don’t stay in touch

When you're a celebrity...

This is the blog where I become a little bitchy. I know, I know...I try to hold back and do a pretty good job at it. However, I just saw something that cracked me up. How does that make me bitchy? Here's why...

I don't follow this person's blog and I will change a few of the facts in order to not make it so obvious as to whom I am speaking of. I was reading a blog that I follow when to the right of his blog, I saw current postings from people he follows. The title of the post caught my attention so I went to that blog. It seems this blogger had held a contest and there was a prize to be awarded to the winner. That's a good idea. Maybe an effort to draw comments or followers? Whatever the reason, it's a good idea. Who doesn't like to win something?

This post in particular was the grand finale where the winner was selected. So I wondered...what is the prize? Well, it was an autographed CD. How cool is that! Well, it was their copy of the cd by a particular artist. It was not signed by the artist...It was signed by the blogger. The way they said it was like this...This is my personal cd that I bought and loved, but I have already listened to it so I am autographing it and sending it out to the lucky winner. Really? Ok, so the cd itself is a score but who does this blogger think they are? It just came off as very narcissistic. I mean, do you think people want your autograph just because you're a blogger?

There are of course, exceptions to every rule. One of the blogs I follow, is Dean Grey's "Exploding Doughnut". I love his blog! He is good blogger and an extremely talented artist. A few months ago he held a contest and the prize was one of his paintings. I won it!....YAY! It was signed...but he is an artist and he should sign HIS work. Julie Powell was a great blogger who became a writer. Her book "Julie & Julia" became a movie last year. If I were following her blog, I might have asked for her autograph AFTER her book was published. I did check, this person is not famous...they work a regular 9 to 5 type job AND they don't have a ton of followers.

It got me to thinking(Yay, something finally got me thinking)...in this world where we are so obsessed with celebrities...are we obsessed with becoming one too?
Is blogging our attempt to attract "fans" and "followers". Are all bloggers a bit narcissistic? Remember, I'm a blogger too so I'm also talking about myself. I like to post
all kinds of things because that's who I am. I love cooking ...so you will see cooking post. I love pop culture...so you will see related blogs. I love gay related issues...so I will post stuff relevant to that. I will also throw in some blogs about myself and my life. That's just how I roll! II might now also do some contest on my blog. I really like that idea...but please, and I am begging you...if I offer to autograph it for you....STOP ME, PLEASE!
I'm curious, am I being a big bitch?

Goo Goo for GaGa

It seems like a lot of people really love Lady GaGa and her music.  I know I do! People performing her songs or doing their own videos to her songs are popping up all over youtube.

Soldiers in Afghantistan doing a video to "Telephone"...

Chris Daughtrey singing "Poker Face"

Yesterday, my friend, Bunny told me about this kid and it has become my favorite. A twelve year old boy singing "Paparazzi" at his school chorus concert...
He was on Ellen today showing off his skills and boy does he have them! Check him out...

That kid has skills! MAJOR SKILLS! I'm Goo Goo for GaGa too, Greyson! How about y'all?

He's a "Take Home Chef" that I would love to take home. He is cute, smart, funny and has an accent. What's not to love! He's also starring in "The Celebrity Apprentice" where he has made it to the final four.
